Toyota: “Take 5”
Video series
ANIMATION & MOTION GRAPHICS
The “Take 5” videos was a series of monthly episodes published internally at Toyota, focusing on different aspects and outcomes leading up to the 2020 presidential election. During a chaotic time with many sources of information, these videos promised to provide Toyota advocates with succinct insights on the electoral process in an efficient way. Using a unique visual style and engaging animation, the videos took a deep dive into the nuances of the current political climate while keeping the runtime to roughly 5 minutes each time.
Episode 1: What’s at Stake?
American voters in 2020 were choosing between two drastically different candidates representing the Democrat and Republican parties. This episode takes a deep dive into some of the differences between Joe Biden and Donald Trump - and different residual outcomes that may result from either victory.
Episode 2: Surveying the battlefield.
The electoral process is complex and often comes down to a candidate's performance in just a few key states. In this episode, we take a look at the electoral college and what are the key states that will impact the final outcome of the election.
Episode 3: A wild finish.
While typically American citizens cast their votes in-person or by mail by or on a specific date, the process doesn’t stop there. There are a number of significant dates and activities that follow, leading to the final Electoral College vote count. In the final episode, we take a look at these intermittent steps and when a final victory can be declared in what was sure to be a highly contested election.
