Augmented reality can be a creative way to allow users to interact with your brand in a physical space. As platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat continue to make this technology accessible, it provides brands and organizations new ways to experiment with activating audiences.

Each year, Pepco sponsors the Zoolights lights festival at the Smithsonian National Zoo. The month long lights festival brings unique color displays and interactive shows for family and kids throughout the zoo to enjoy. As part of this initiative, we developed an AR lens transforming the user into a panda to celebrate the lights festival and help drive awareness. Users would be able too access the lens while on ground at the zoo, motivating them to share their experiences with their own followers.

Each year, Social Driver fundraises and matches donations to the Trevor Project through the #LoveSDelivered campaign. Clients and loved ones were mailed customized valentines that unlocked an interactive Instagram lens. The external facing camera showcased an animation on the real-card world that opened a bouquet of flowers, as well as the call-to-action. This level of interaction motivated users to post their videos/photos of the lens - driving donations food each #LovesDelivered post. The self facing camera also featured a ‘share the love’ challenge that randomly cycled through various actions that challenged the user to show affection to someone they care about.

In 2020 the Academy for Accessible Medicines celebrated 10 years of Biosimilars. As a part of a planned Capitol Hill event, we developed an interactive lens that allowed users to take a fun photo with decorative glasses and confetti.  The external facing unlocked another celebratory animation when shown the cards printed for the event.  While the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the lens gave their members a unique way to celebrate the anniversary remotely - generating thousands of views.
